ARRIVING BY CAR?
Abergavenny is easily accessible by car. Apart from the last couple of miles the journey from London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Swansea can be achieved without having to leave either motorway or dual-carriageway.
From London: Take the M4 to Newport. At Junction 24, take the A449 and then the A40 to Abergavenny. (approximately two-and-a-half hours).
From Manchester: Take the M6 south to Junction 10a and join the M5 at Birmingham. Follow the directions from Birmingham (below).
(Approximately three hours).
From Birmingham: Take the M5 south to Junction 8, join the M50 to Ross-on-Wye and then take the A40 to Abergavenny via Monmouth.
(Approximately two-and-a-half hours).
From West Wales: take the M4 to junction 26 and join the A4042 to Abergavenny.
ARRIVING BY TRAIN?
If you're coming by train, Abergavenny has a frequent rail service connected to both London, the South and West via Bristol and Newport, and the Midlands and North via Crewe.
Taxis are available from the railway station (approximately 5 mins).
