Why Train as a Professional Colour Therapist?
- Are you searching for a new, rewarding career which offers a flexible lifestyle which will fit in with other family and career responsibilities and also allow you to make full use of your caring and intuitive side?
- Are you already working as a complementary therapist and looking for another set of skills to add to your existing services?
- Do you have an interest in colour which you would like to develop in a therapeutic way?
- If so, then training to be a Certified Colour Therapy Practitioner is almost certainly for you!
Colour therapy is extremely versatile and flexible in nature and can be combined with all complementary therapies or, indeed, as a separate therapy in its own right. So:
What is Colour Therapy?
In Colour Therapy full spectrum colour is used to help re-balance & energise the body on physical, emotional, mental & spiritual levels. Rather than offering one particular technique or approach, colour therapists utilize a wide variety of different techniques & applications to restore balance and therefore health and well being. Some examples of techniques include: work with coloured cloths or silks to cover the body, crystals, colour energised oils or waters, full spectrum lights and coloured gells, colour breath work and visualisations & art therapy.
Colour can have a profound effect on all levels of our working with different shades stimulates our natural healing processes. The brain perceives the visible wavelengths of light as various colours and each colour wavelength vibrates at a particular frequency. Colour therapists are trained to know that sub-atomic particles in the cells of the body also have vibrational frequencies and, when these frequencies are disrupted, illness can result. Therefore, Colour Practitioners make use of colour wavelengths to correct imbalances and 're-attune' the body's vibrational energy to restore harmony.

Clear Intentions offer professional training to Practitioner Certificate and Diploma levels which means that you will be able to practise Colour Therapy safely and confidently on the general public once you qualify.
Course structure
This course is recognized by the UK lead body in Colour Therapy – The Affiliation of Colour Therapy Organisations (ACTO) and carries full practitioner status.
Students will be taught a comprehensive range of colour therapy disciplines and will be encouraged to find their own areas of special interest during this flexible and fluid course. Colour Therapy Training with Clear Intentions is not dependant upon any specific product range and no expensive “kit” of healing tools will be required. On the contrary, our approach is simple and inclusive and we encourage students to find therapy in the simplest of ways.
Pre –requisites
Those students who wish to qualify as practitioners* will be required to study for a Level 3 qualification in Anatomy & Physiology. Full details of our ITEC Level Diploma are available by clicking here (you will be re-directed to our sister site Athena School of Natural Therapies). Alternatively, we welcome students who hold a separate but equivalent A&P qualification who may apply for Accreditation of Prior Learning. Full details are available on request. Study can be prior to, simultaneous with or following on from the Colour Therapy course modules, to suit each students’ needs.
* We respect the fact that many students have no desire to become practitioners but simply do the course for personal development reasons. There is no requirement for these students to undertake study in A&P unless they wish to do so.
Question: Not all colour therapy courses require an Anatomy and Physiology qualification so why do Clear Intentions?
We believe that Colour Therapy is one of the most profoundly effective healing mediums available. That being the case, we are of the opinion that practitioners should hold qualifications which are every bit as robust as those held by massage therapists, reflexologists etc. We also want our qualification to stand up to any degree of external scrutiny and therefore we demand high levels of skill and knowledge from our graduates.
