The main aim of the ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Lymphatic Drainage Massage is to enable candidates to gain the practical and theoretical skills necessary to provide lymphatic drainage treatments for the purposes of relaxation, stress release and to aid the of reduction of excess fluid.
Lymphatic Drainage is a form of massage that stimulates the lymphatic system with gentle massaging strokes. The light rhythmical massage encourages the lymphatic system to eliminate waste products, excess fluid and bacteria. This helps detoxification and can have a positive effect on body weight and energy levels and clear areas of congestion such as swollen ankles, puffy eyes and swollen legs. It is known to help with post-operative, scar tissue healing, torn ligaments and sprains and promote deep relaxation.

To achieve the ITEC Level 3 qualification, students are required to complete 5 individual treatments and 3 case studies of 3 treatments each. In addition candidates will have to complete ITEC modules in Business, Health & Safety and Principles and Practices of Complementary Therapies.
NB This diploma does not qualify therapists to work on medical oedema.
Entry Requirement: Level 3 Body Massage qualification and Level3 Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.
Course duration: 2 Day.
Examination System: Course participants will be continually assessed throughout the 2 days.
Tutor: A member of the Athena In House teaching team
Cost: £300 including ITEC registration and examination fees.
Alternatively this course is available without ITEC assessment but with Athena In House certification only for £200.
